Hildegarde Westerkamp.

Her work consists of soundscape studies and looking at acoustic ecology. I looked to interviews with Westerkamp to find out her working process, she goes and records specifically for pieces but in the early days of her work she used to just go out and records soundscapes and then compositions came second. Sounds may be used for her current projects or maybe even later on. Hildegardes work shows the best of the natural acoustics of spaces and a lot of her recordings are not edited in ways which warp the recordings. Hildegarde also worked with Schafer on the world soundscape project, bringing awareness sounding environments.
