Morning Chorus and JCB

Morning Chorus and JCB is a little experiment looking at recording at different times of day... is there any difference in environmental sound when recording early in the morning opposed to the afternoon? Turns out everything seems louder...? I'm not sure if that's because you're able to focus in on one sound which is much louder than the other rather than a huge mass of noise in which you cant find the main source.
